By marrying our deep-rooted home cooking techniques with succulent smoked meats, we aspire to win over tastebuds and build robust relationships within our community. Meet Samuel Foster, fondly known as Pop’s, Poppy, or Pop. A seasoned cook since childhood, Pop’s is a culinary virtuoso from the hills of Northwest Georgia and the third eldest of twelve siblings. He places a strong emphasis on cooking methodology and the ultimate flavor of every dish.

Assisting Pop’s in the kitchen is his wife, Phyllis, affectionately known as Ma, Mom, or Mama. A Southern Georgia native and the youngest of four, Phyllis plays a key role in taste-testing. Their love story started in the kitchen back in 1988, leading to a blended family of four children who’ve inherited their parents’ passion for cooking.

At Pop’s Grillin’, we believe in respect and inclusivity. Our crew isn’t just staff – they’re part of our creative process. They’ve even contributed to our evolving menu, with three specialty dishes already making a mark.

Our journey began in 2016 as a take-out restaurant in Port Wentworth, GA, where we amassed valuable insights about the restaurant industry. Though we closed after a year, our culinary dream lived on. Since February 2022, Pop’s Grillin’ has been on the road, delighting taste buds in Savannah and beyond. With plans to traverse Georgia and neighboring states, we’re not only serving tantalizing food but also encouraging and supporting other aspiring mobile kitchen entrepreneurs.
